save the date: nebraska infrastructure protection conference
Nebraska’s Director of Homeland Security, Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy and U.S. Attorney Michael Heavican are hosting the second annual Nebraska Infrastructure Protection Conference. The conference will be held March 23rd and 24 th at the Holiday Inn Convention Center at 3321 South 72 nd Street in Omaha.
Sessions on Thursday include: State Plan for Media Communications in a Major Disaster, Crisis Communication, Update on the National Response Plan, Identification of Available Assets for Response and Recovery Efforts and Department of Homeland Security Training Program.
Tabletop training on Mass Casualty, Critical Infrastructure and Public Health will be the focus of the Friday morning training.
The hosts say that the conference will offer information sharing, collaboration and networking with those protecting Nebraska’s critical infrastructure assets. It will also establish relationships and contact lists before a potential crisis.
Lt. Governor Sheehy explained that this conference is important to businesses as well as government agencies. He said many businesses in the state are involved in the infrastructure issues that will be addressed at the meeting.
