The FAA National Small Business Conference will be held for the first time in Chicago, IL the week of July 16, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, 2233 South Martin L. King Drive. The theme of the conference is "Clearance for Takeoff - Small Business in Aviation Modernization".  The FAA is most excited to have the active participation of the City of Chicago's Department of Aviation and their O'Hare Modernization Office.  This conference will be a great opportunity for local and national small and minority businesses to review potential contacting and subcontracting opportunities dedicated to the O'Hare expansion and modernization effort.  Representatives of regional FAA contracting offices and other Federal Government agencies will also be available for small businesses to network and discuss upcoming procurements.  This is an excellent chance to make important connections with large businesses that have subcontracting opportunities.  Furthermore there will be representatives available to discuss the disadvantaged business enterprise program associated with airport improvement grant funding at local airport authorities.  The FAA Central Region has a long standing commitment to the small business community as they have exceeded their small and minority business contracting goals for many years.  For more information on this event contact C.O. Shepard Jr, FAA Central Region Small Business Specialist, at 816-329-3118 or access their website at www.asballiance.com.
