ASW Associates, Inc., of Lincoln, NE was presented with EPA’s Administrator’s Award for Outstanding HUBZone Contractor for Fiscal Year 2006 on October 16, 2007 in Washington DC. ASW is a HUBZone, Native American, Small Disadvantaged, Veteran owned firm that provides value through quality environmental remediation, construction, and consulting services nationally and internationally, supporting the mission of EPA, the Department of Defense, and other clients within the public and private sectors.

The company offers more than 15 years experience on commercial and government HTRW remediation and construction projects. Mr. Marshall Prichard, founder and President of ASW, started the company in 1992. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded to five locations nationwide with headquarters in Lincoln, NE. ASW has been the recipient of the Regional Prime Contractor of the Year award designated by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The EPA contract consisted of the remediation of 425 lead contaminated residential properties in Omaha, NE. The work was successfully performed and completed on schedule with ASW earning all possible incentives related to the hiring and training of local workers and the use of local firms as subcontractors. EPA states:

“In 2006, ASW won the largest contract that EPA has ever awarded to a HUBZone firm. The fixed price performance based contract with incentives and was awarded on 3/31/2006 as the result of a small business set-aside competition. ASW’s performance clearly provided evidence that a HUBZone firm can successfully and efficiently perform Superfund work. Due to the more than favorable experience with ASW, Region VII decided to hold a HUBZone set-aside competition in 2007, for a multi-year contract. The set-aside competition was made possible because of the quality of ASW’s work and effort provided by the FY2006 contract that clearly showed that a HUBZone set-aside could result in a successful EPA contract.”
