The Nebraska Business Development Center and the Office of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) proudly recognize their client Joy Huber Presentations, Inc. (JHPI), a women-owned small business in Lincoln, Nebraska. The company, owned by Joy Huber, is a training/public speaking company, and Joy is also now offering coaching services. Joy is completing an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) certification through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) to become a Life and Business Coach, and has begun accepting coaching clients for 2008 to work with one-on-one to identify your vision & mission, and work and live from that vision & mission.

A powerful quote that has impacted Joy’s life is, “If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got!” Therefore, if you are seeking any different results in your life, it is up to you to make it happen! Joy has traveled extensively throughout the nation delivering training events and seminars. JHPI’s services are customized to address the specific needs of the business and the individual. Joy has a deep desire to work with people and help make a profound impact in their life, and fulfills the roles of Coach, Advisor, Motivator, Trainer and Leader to accomplish the goal.

JHPI has implemented an effective method to help overcome the challenge that many small businesses face, “marketing the business”. Many companies face uncertainty and risk in investing in costly advertising alone to get the word out about who they are, what they do, and what products and/or services they have to offer. To overcome this, JHPI asked itself, "Are there companies I know of or could research and find that offer complementary products and/or services to what I offer? Could we enter into a strategic alliance or partnership and spread the risk, as well as the reward, and market each other or perhaps market together?"

Joy saw an ad for Omaha-based I Spy Mystery Shoppers last winter, contacted the owner, and introduced JHPI group training services. Joy realized that when a mystery shopper shops a company over and over again yielding failing results, there lies a training & staff development opportunity. So she began a dialogue with Cory Jensen, owner of I Spy Mystery Shopping.

After careful planning a strategic alliance was formed. I Spy Mystery Shoppers was now able to suggest a training solution that addressed the company’s failed mystery shopper results. JHPI was able to provide a popular "Pick 3" customizable training workshop for the company. Similar to picking your appetizer, entree, and dessert at a restaurant & customizing your meal to your liking, companies customize the training workshop to meet current challenges. A pre-workshop tailoring discusses targeted post-event outcomes and each workshop is tailored for the industry, and company. Some of the current modules customers can select for their "Pick 3" include: Communications Skills +; Sales Skills +; The Rules of Customer Service Have Changed; Managing Stress & Receiving Feedback Positively; Customer Service Personnel Management; Spanning the Trans-Generational Gap; and Effectively Managing Customer Diversity.
