The NBDC PTAC Program through its sponsorship support from NMC, Inc conducted their annual Veteran Owned Business Workshop on 14 November 2007 at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha, NE. Over 50 veteran owned businesses were represented during the workshop. The event was opened by the UNO ROTC Detachment Honor Guard, welcoming comments were provided by Mayor Fahey of the City of Omaha, and then followed by Dr Bob Bernier (NBDC State Director and Assistant Dean of the UNO College of Business Administration). Tyrone Lassiter (VA Center for Veterans Enterprise) provided updated activities and support services by the CVE, and Brad Foster (Product Support Sales Representative for NMC, Inc) presented an overview of the NMC, Inc organization and services. Kathy Hendrix (Contract Compliance, Human Relations Department of the City of Omaha) provided an overview on how to do business with the City of Omaha, and Randy Hansen (Contracting Officer) and MSgt Tonja Bucholz (Contracting Specialist) with the USPFO Nebraska Army National Guard) presented information on how to do business with the USPFO. Robert Thompson (Buyer for the Nebraska State Materiel/Purchasing Division) presented an overview of how to do business with the state of Nebraska. Mary Graff (PTAC Program Consultant) provided a presentation to existing PTAC program clients, and Scott Knapp and Roger Johnson (PTAC Program Consultants) provided an overview and information to attendees that were not registered as PTAC clients. NMC, Inc also sponsored a buffet luncheon for all attendees, displayed one of their construction vehicles painted green with a large patriotic NMC, Inc banner across it. We sincerely appreciate the support and attendance by NMC, Inc and their local Omaha staff.
